Struffoli recipe

Ingredients:

500 g of flour
5 whole eggs
150 g of sugar
25 g of butter
grated zest of 1/2 lemon
grated zest of 1/2 orange
salt
1 tablespoon of Brandy
250 g of honey
100 g of candied fruit
60 g of colored sugared almonds

Put the flour on the table and add all the ingredients.
Let the dough rest for a few hours, then cut into pieces and shape thin sticks with your hands:
cut them into small pieces and fry them in hot oil.
Drain them thoroughly.
Pour the honey, sugar and a few spoonfuls of water into a copper container:

boil until the mixture appears yellow.
Keep the heat low and add the struffoli together with the candied fruit.
Arrange them on a plate moistened with water and shape them into donuts.
Sprinkle them with colored sugared almonds and other candied fruits.
